Onur Hilaloglu

Onur Hilaloglu, bass – Mersin, Anamur (Türkiye)

Turkish-born Canadian bass Onur Hilaloglu recently completed the Opera Diploma at the University of Toronto, studying with Wendy Nielsen. He began his vocal training at the Mimar Sinan Istanbul State Conservatory before continuing his musical studies as a cellist in a fine arts high school. He made his stage debut in 2018 in Gianni Schicchi with the BIFO Academy. At UofT Opera, he performed Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), appeared in Three Islands, and sang Procolo (Viva la Mamma!) and Collatinus (The Rape of Lucretia). In 2025–26, he was a finalist in the Canadian Opera Company’s Centre Stage Competition. He now continues his artistic development at l’Atelier lyrique.
